Car Fire Destroys Shreveport Storage Building

SHREVEPORT, LA - Just after 6:40pm Shreveport Fire Department responded to the 9000 block of Mansfield Road for a reported building fire behind the Applebee's Grill + Bar. Engine 17 arrived on scene to find smoke coming from the "A" and "D" side of a one story metal storage building. Engine 15 arrived second due and helped on fire attack. Firefighters were able to knock down the flames on without laying a supply line. The flames were contained to that one unit it started in. All other units suffered smoke damage but no fire. One minor civilian injury was reported and the fire is believed to have been started by a car being repaired on.

Shreveport Fire Department crews are working a commercial building fire at SecurCare Self Storage on Alkay Drive. First due pump arrived on scene to find heavy smoke visible from a storage building. Firefighters extinguished the flames in the primary unit and are clearing smoke in the other units.
